Bobo Gets A Present

Bobo aka Clyde of Unicorner, our household pet attended the cat show on Saturday. He showed last year enough to receive 16th Best HHP in the region. This weekend he hissed and grumbled his way through 4 rings and recieved three rosettes. But I knew he didn't enjoy it and absenteed him from the rest. We left him home on Sunday. I figured he would punish me for taking him to that horrible place where there were... of all things... CATS! I guess he doesn't know he is one.

To apologize to him, we bought him a cat tree he can climb on and a cute catnip mouse.

Here he is after first seeing the tree. Of course, he loves it. He loved the mouse too, so much that he disemboweled it, there was catnip all over the carpet and it was in two pieces when we got home from work.

We truly are in the end times, folks!

Of course now the link to the cat show photos is underneath one about a "self-proclaimed new Christ".... We truly are in the end times, folks! Are YOU ready?

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
Matthew 24:24

Cat show splash felt worldwide

As some of you know the cat club we started (Heart of Texas Cat Club) just held a regional cat show in Waco this past weekend. We knew we had some photographers at the cat show but didn't know we were going worldwide! Check out the Photos column, bottom right hand... http://www.reuters.com/

Apparently photos of the show are now popping up all over the world. One exhibitor said "I found one in the Hindustan Times."http://www.hindusta ntimes.com/ PhotoGallery/ Photos_Storypage .aspx?category= Cat%20show- Robert C. Koestler

One of our exhibitors wrote on our email group:
"The coolest thing happened this weekend in Waco at the SC Regional. On Saturday several of us noticed a couple of men walking around with some REALLY expensive camera equipment. One of them stopped and was talking to me and I asked him if he was from Waco and he told me no, that he was with the White House Press Corps as the President was in town that weekend. He and his buddy walked around for a few hours and took some pictures and asked a lot of questions.

Then they left... On Sunday he and his buddy were back with another photographer taking a lot more pics and writing down things, etc...Very interesting people, to say the least. We asked them what they were going to do with all those pics and they said that they were going to put it out on the wire service. They were working for Reuters.

Today in the San Antonio Express News on the inside page of the metro section was a picture of Terrificats Cream Soda..a cream silver and white MC owned by Karen Crooke. Yep, he was there, cowboy hat and all and it came from the Reuters news service. Talk about publicity! "

Anyway, I guess the hard work paid off... Now if only we could have a sheep and mini show while the Prez is in town....

Rufus - Then and Now

Remember Rufus? Our bottle baby is growing up. Rufus' mom, Binky, didn't take care of him when he was born on January 31 on a cold, wet afternoon. His sister Ruby was fine, but when we found poor Rufus he was almost dead from hypothermia. After a long night of warming him and trying to get some milk down him, he perked up and became my constant companion for a few weeks, even going to the office with me. Here is a photo of him at one day and at six months.

Misty Rose Goes to a New Home

Rose has joined the Moreno family of Georgetown, Texas. We hated to sell her but we know she will get lots of attention from James and Shelly and their three children. One less on the farm will also give us more time for the other 28.

The family also plans to do some therapy work with Rose, which we feel will be a worthy task for our sweet, sweet mare.

We still have some miniature horses available, take a look at the website at http://www.unicornerfarm.com/.

Big Cat Show This Weekend

The Heart of Texas Cat Club, which we are charter members of, will be hosting the South Central Regional Show and Awards Banquet this weekend. You can find more information about it at http://justcats.org/2007_SCRegional.html, but it will be August 18-19, 2007 at the General Exhibits Building, Heart of Texas Fairgrounds, 4601 Bosque Blvd, Waco, Texas 76710.
We will be showing our "BoBo" aka Clyde of Unicorner in the Household Pet division. He did well enough last season to win a Top Twenty HHP award which we will receive at the banquet on Saturday night.
Come out and visit, you will be amazed at the variety of cat breeds to be seen at the show!

Guineas in the 'hood

Our neighbor's guinea fowl have been visiting us regularly this summer. Yesterday morning they were preening on our sidewalk to the barn. We welcome their visits since they eat lots of grasshoppers and other bugs.

Tunis flock enjoying the green grass

I took this photo of our Tunis ewes last night. I was able to get almost all of them in one shot. Two were grazing off to the left.
